Hey everyone, I have finally decided to set up a blog for our family. It took several months for me to figure out just what a "blog" is and now here we go.
We are living in San Antonio, TX right now. We'll probably be here for a while. Travis grew up here and thinks it's the best place on earth. I think the only way I could ever get him to move is if his love, the San Antonio Spurs, moved to a different city. So, since I don't think that will happen anytime soon, here we are.
Travis graduated from UTSA this past July with a BA in Marketing. We are loving having Daddy home. Travis keeps busy with his own business Discount Payment Processing, and all the other business interests he has up his sleeves.
I am lucky enough to stay home with our cute little girls. Madeline is 3 1/2 and Hallie is 16 months. I think that I have the cutest and smartest little girls in the world, just like I'm sure every other parent thinks. It's so fun to watch them learn and surprise you with what they know. Some days are better than others, but they are sweet, sweet girls.
This summer we've been keeping busy. In June, the girls and I headed up to Utah to go to my younger brother's wedding. It was a busy intense week, but we loved it. The girls love to spend time with Grandma's and Grandpa's and all the aunts and uncles. Summer time in Utah is my favorite. You can't beat sitting in the shade on a porch around 5-6 o'clock, going on late walks, or sitting at a late baseball game. It's hard to do a lot of those things comfortably here in Texas. So, we really enjoy our Utah summers!
Next Travis and I headed off to Cancun. Travis' Mom came and spent a few days here with the girls while we went. We had a blast. We stayed in an all inclusive resort right on the beach. We were able to eat dinner or any other meal really for that matter, overlooking the ocean. It was gorgeous. We made a couple of ventures out down to Playa Del Carmen which has some of the most beautiful beaches either of us have ever seen. We also went down to Tulum to see some of the Ancient Ruins. Very interesting! We were spotted by an LDS tour guide (my long shorts are a dead give away) and she was able to tell us a lot of interesting things about the sites and how they pertain to book of mormon days. Very cool! The girls had a blast with MiMa. She took them to Lake Medina (brave woman) Six Flags, and to the movies. They had tea parties and just didn't miss us at all.
After all that, things have settled down. We've made a couple trips down to Corpus to play at the beach with the girls. We've conned a few families from the ward to come with us each time and it's been a blast. Summer's coming to an end and we are looking forward to all that fall has to offer!
