Travis' Mom invited all the women on her side of the family down to AZ for a girls weekend. It was so fun to see everyone who was able to come and of course.... just being able to do girlie things! So, we planned on having a real Tea Party just for the Adult Girls. It was so fun to send out invitations and plan for this afternoon! We also decided to throw Miriam (my SIL) a surprise baby shower during this Tea Party... because to say she loves Tea Parties is an understatement. Her Wedding luncheon was held at the "Tea Room" I had never been to a real place for a real Tea Party... oh my gosh.... it's such a fun experience and they have so many options for herbal teas that are so yummy. Anyway, so Miriam made a fabulous menu and I wish I would have taken a picture of it... it was gorgeous! She came up with the menu and then she, Cheryl (Travis' mom), and I all made the food. So, here are few pictures of our afternoon. It was fabulous!
I was looking for decorations and party favors for the party and came across some floor candlesticks on a blog and had to make them. I have added more to the base of these candlesticks recently, but for now... this is the only pic I have of them. I then added these tissue paper topiary balls. Thought they were a nice touch.
Strawberry Poppers, filled with a mixture of Cream cheese, chopped pistachios and rosemary, then topped with chopped pistachios.
Miriam made this amazing Chocolate silk... the best few bites of chocolate I've ever had. And then she made a lime pudding/mousse(can't remember now what it was actually called. But, I loved how everything had it's own tiny little dish. So cute and equally so delicious!
Asparagus wrapped in goat cheese and prosciutto
fresh grapefruit salad... including avacado and basil... so delicous.
Tea Sandwhiches. These are a picture of the radish sandwhiches, we also had cucumber sandwhiches and strawberry sandwhiches. SO yummy!
Coconut thimbals... some strawberry almond flavored and some apricot rum flavored
Ginger scones served with Lemon Curd and clotted cream
Chilled cucumber avacado soup
Party Favors
These were our dollar store party favors. I bought some candlesticks and candle plates from the dollar store... used some epoxy and made these cute little personal platters for everyone.
It was such a fun afternoon! Cheryl asked two of her Beehive girls to be our servers for the party. We were totally spoiled!.... I'm sure the posibilities are endless, but I would totally recommend doing this. It was a blast!!!
