Rocky Point

Our First trip to Rocky Point.  Pass Ports in tow we headed down to Rocky Point Mexico with our family, my brother Brandon and a caravan of friends in steaming hot August.  We got a really good deal on a resort (probably because it was blistering hot and off season)... but It's a beach and a pool and we had a great time.

We got there in the evening and the next day we got up and headed out to the pool and beach.  But, Where's the ocean?  Do you see it?

Do you see it now?  Seriously there was miles of baren ocean floor with just a few puddles as far as the eye could see.

Brandon was such a trooper.  He walked the girls and a few of the other kids all the way out to where the ocean started.  While out there, they found Sand Dollars... real life full Sand Dollars!  There were other AMAZING shells along the way too.  It was SO cool to see shells and sea products that I've only seen at other people's homes on their display shelves. :)

Livi and I took off on the long walk out to the ocean.  We never did make it all the way out there even though we walked for a 1/2 hour each way.

We finally ran into Brandon and the other kids.  I was getting worried after walking for a 1/2 hour and seeing no one.  Out there in the middle of no where... Maddy and her friends found a wild baby bunny that was hurt.  Of Course Maddy was holding it wrapped up in her swim shirt.  The kids were SO excited about it and all I could think of was that this bunny was going to give some kid rabbis.  Luckily it didn't bite anyone and the kids got it back to some bushes and natural wild life.

Kenna hanging at the pool.  They had a great shallow play area for the kids.

My little Livi's cute feet

Livi is a fish... like her sisters.  She just learned how to swim this year and had an absolute blast at this pool.

My Little Bro Brandon.  (not so little anymore!)  The boys who came with our group thought he was a Super Hero.  He looks like one... I can't blame them for thinking he was one!

My Super Hero.  :) lol

One minute she was up
Another minute she was down.
Plop!

Do you see the Ocean yet?  Just barely?  It's coming.

Getting a little closer

A little closer

Finally here!  The tide brings it all the way in and by afternoon it is really deep.  Then around 5-6pm it starts to go away.  Travis and I were out Kayaking and all the sudden we were in 18 inches of water.  It left as quick as it came and we had to haul a very heavy Kayak across the sand all the way back to the shore.

After a very long day in the sun.  Lots of rosy cheeks and smeared sunscreen faces.

Super fun Trip.  Can't wait to go back.  Maybe to a different Resort!!

Oh I am so glad you finally enjoyed a trip to Rocky Point. What resort did you guys go to? Maybe next summer we can go at the same time when we come to visit? It is seriously one of our favorite cheap places to vacation at a beach :)
